History

Owner and operator of Coach’s Fitness Centre, Conor Cunningham, or Coach, entered into the fitness industry full time in 2010. Having been involved in sport his entire life and having a keen interest in health and fitness, it was a very quick and successful transition when changing from his old career to follow his lifelong passion.

In 2003, while part of the F.A.I National Soccer Academy Conor picked up his first set of qualifications, and more importantly a great passion, for the health & fitness industry. As well as becoming a qualified gym instructor, Conor passed the first 3 levels towards becoming a fully qualified Football Coach with the FAI, and shortly after the knickname to match

Over several seasons working with various clubs in Cork, and winning silverware with them all. The highlight was surely in Coach’s first year as head coach of Killumney Utd, as they were crowned AUL 1 League Champions, County Cup Winners and also received awards for both AUL Team of the Season and AUL Manager of the Season all in May 2010.

During this time, Conor was also heavily involved with boxing, where he again took the reigns as a Coach, first with Rylane, and later setting up his own Boxing Club in Killumney. It was at this time that Conor decided to return to full time education, studying Sports & Recreation, and to walk away from a thriving career in the construction industry to follow his passion for health & fitness.

Over the years Conor has gone on to coach people from every walk of life, from running fitness classes and Bridal Bootcamps, to the extreme of competing in World Championships. In the space of just 6 days in 2016, Conor had two athletes take home two 2nd Place Trophies from two World Championships, in two different sports (Powerlifting & Bikini Fitness).
